We specialize in covering classic cars, modified collector cars, reproductions, replicas, restorations, modern classic cars and antique autos. Cars we insure are unique and have intrinsic value. How old does my car need to be to qualify as classic?
Classic cars must be at least 10 years old and can include modified antiques and limited production cars. Modern classic cars must be limited production cars less than 10 years old. Antique cars must be at least 25 years old and have no modifications or have been restored to their original condition. Other restrictions may apply depending on the company you chose to go with.
Do I have to keep my classic car in a garage?
Yes, for a majority of the companies we represent. In order to qualify for classic car coverage, your car usually must be stored in an enclosed, locking garage or storage facility.
I run a classic car limousine service. Can I get coverage?
Yes, however, not on your personal insurance policy. We offer commercial auto insurance and click here to learn more. We mainly insure classic cars used for personal use only. Our commercial division will offer coverage on classic cars used for any delivery, business or commercial purpose.
Is there an annual mileage limit?
It depends on which company we insure you with. For the most part our companies offer the option of regular use coverage, which allows you to drive your car for up to 10,000 miles per year. Restricted use coverage allows you to drive up to 5,000 miles per year.
What does agreed value mean?
Prior to issuing your policy, we work closely with you to come to an agreement on the value of your car, based on your car’s market value and condition. If your car is declared a total loss after being stolen or damaged, you will receive that amount. All you pay is the deductible. It’s a good idea to review your policy with us on an annual basis to ensure the agreed value is still accurate.
What is the process of determining the value my car?
The agreed value of your classic car can be approximated by consulting various sources including vehicle appraisals, the duPont Registry™, ClassicCars and Buy Classic Cars.
